Libyens flagga
Libyens flagga har tre horisontella fält i rött, svart samt grönt. vid det svarta bandet, vilket är bredare, finns ett vit halvmåne och femuddig stjärna. Den antogs liksom en resultat av detta Libyska inbördeskriget.

[redigera | redigera wikitext]Flaggan med tre fält inom rött, mörk och grönt liknar den panafrikanska flaggan. Rött, mörk, vitt samt grönt tillhör också dem panarabiska färgerna. Flaggan visar på därför sätt både på den arabiska samt afrikanska identiteten i landet. Halvmånen samt stjärnan symboliserar islam. ljus halvmåne samt stjärna vid svart botten i mitten av flaggan härstammar ifrån Cyrenaicaemiratets flagga.[1] Den flaggans ovanliga svartvita färgkombination härstammade från tidigare religiösa banér.[2]Idris I likt år blev Libyens monark var chef för enstaka religiös orden, Sanusiya.[3]
